About Us
Manorbridge Investment Management is a specialist private client practice. We aim to achieve strong investment returns over the longer term through capital appreciation, income generation, or a combination of both. However, we never forget we are merely the caretaker of the portfolio, so the client is always at the forefront of everything we do. We seek to build long term relationships with our clients, often looking after several generations of the same family.
As every client is unique, so is every portfolio. We do not put clients into boxes, but structure a portfolio which is individual and appropriate, not just at the outset, but ensuring it continues to evolve and provide what is precisely right for the client in the future. The portfolios we construct are diversified across the investment sphere, with our aim to generate returns over many years ahead. Long term relationships are therefore key to the way we work and how we invest money for clients.
Manorbridge Investment Management is an independent practice and we look after a wide range of clients, from private individuals, through to trusts, charities, pensions and ISAs. All our new clients come from referrals and as we do not employ business development or sales people, every person at Manorbridge Investment Management is solely there to look after our existing clients.
Our Approach
ATTENTIVE
We are attentive to both our clients and the portfolios we run. The business would not exist without its clients, so providing a personal service is something we feel should not be overlooked. We will regularly communicate, review and discuss progress, with performance simply one of many criteria we look to achieve. When managing a portfolio there is so much more which may need to be considered, be this taxation, flexibility, risk or future requirements and by managing the details we aim to achieve the greatest overall benefit for our clients.
BESPOKE
We do not believe in forcing clients to select the portfolio which most closely meets their needs. Each client is individual, so every portfolio we run recognises this fact. We always start with the client and look to construct something which is uniquely theirs. The concept of ‘one size fits all’ does not sit not well with Manorbridge and the money should be managed for the client - it is theirs, after all and we are never going to forget this. Over time we look to build our relationships with clients and earn their trust over generations.
ACTIVE
We believe the days of simply buying an investment and then forgetting about it are long gone. Markets are constantly changing, but with this volatility comes opportunity. Nimble investment management can help to capitalise on this and we refuse to slavishly track models. By being active we will not simply follow markets up, then down, but constantly look to position portfolios to take advantage of opportunities, both to make gains, but just as importantly to help protect client portfolios during more turbulent times.
The People
Neil Jones
Neil has worked at a number of leading investment management firms in his 22 years in the industry, including Brewin Dolphin and HSBC James Capel. He provides much of the strategic asset allocation overview for portfolios and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Ian Kavanagh
Ian formerly worked for Hargreave Hale and Brewin Dolphin, managing private client portfolios, before which he worked as an IFA with Towry Law (now known as Tilney), where he advised on areas such as pensions and tax efficient investing. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Victoria Clapham
Before Manorbridge, Victoria worked at Brewin Dolphin and Hargreave Hale, where she was a member of numerous investment committees. She also specialises in probate and trust work, as well as being a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

BLACKHEATH RUGBY
The Club helped to organise the world's first rugby international (between England and Scotland in Edinburgh on 27 March 1871) and hosted the first international between England and Wales ten years later. Blackheath, along with Civil Service F.C., is one of the two clubs that can claim to be a founder member of both The Football Association and the Rugby Football Union. Former notable players include England internationals Micky Skinner and Joe Simpson.
EXTRAOARDINARY
Manorbridge were delighted to sponsor Team ExtraOARdinary, a three-woman team who rowed 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in a world record time of 42 days, in 2022.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the ultimate endurance race, rowing 3000 miles across the world's second largest ocean, from La Gomera to Antigua. The crew of Kat Cordiner, Charlotte Irving and Abby Johnston lived on a 25ft boat, rowing 80 minutes on and 40 minutes off continuously from December 2021-January 2022.
The crew undertook this massive challenge to turn the tide on cancer and raise much-needed funds for cancer charities Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
